Millennial Fair – Princess Mononoke Characters Page

Prince Ashitaka (Top)
Ashitaka is the last prince of the Emishi people, a clan that was thought to have died out hundreds
of years ago. He is extremely skilled in several forms of combat and chooses to live his life by
the means of protecting those close to him in his small village of the far east, especially his
little sister. His protecting those people leads to his fighting and killing a possessed boar,
which was threatening the very lives of everyone around him. Within this ferocious battle, Ashitaka
sustained a curse across his arm, a curse that cannot be cured by simple human science, but by what
is constantly looked down upon by humans: nature. His quest for his health leads him to the west,
where he finds himself directly in the middle of the battle between humans and nature. His good
nature leads him to not take one side in this pointless battle, but to try and prevent it from
going too far, something that is extremely influential in the well being of not only the
inhabitants of the planet, but the planet itself.
Princess Mononoke (Top)
San, or who now goes by the name of “Princess Mononoke”, was abandoned as a child by
that of her parents when fleeing from the Moro, the Wolf God. Strange as it was, Moro decided to
take San in as if she were her own child, thus leading to her immense amount of knowledge in nature,
her deadly combat skills, and her great hatred towards that of the humans. Despite her being a human
herself, she prefers to call herself a wolf, as her loyalty lies in them and nature, nothing else. As a
result of her continuous attacks upon humans, especially that of Lady Eboshi, she has been hunted and
feared by many, and is perhaps the biggest threat to the plans of the humans. Although her attitude
towards all humans is completely cold, ruthless and hating, she develops a strong relationship with that
of Ashitaka throughout their time spent with one another, a relationship that will prove to be extremely
important in the well–being of the planet.
