Introduction:

Starwind and Hawking enterprises, a small company that “takes on any job”, is owned by Gene Starwind, a smooth talking, girl chasing and skilled outlaw, and his partner, Jim Hawking, a young boy genius. Starwind and Hawking enterprises has always been owned by these two and has always resided on a small two–bit planet. This is brought upon the fact that Gene is afraid of outer space as a result of a mysterious accident that occurred within his youth. However, this is all about to change when the two take a job from a mysterious woman who is in fact the famous outlaw “Hot Ice” Hilda, who forces the two to travel with her into outer–space in order to help her acquire a very powerful ship, which is later to be named by Gene as the “Outlaw Star”.

Hilda informs the two that one of the reasons she wants this powerful ship is to travel to the Galactic Leyline, a place in which a mysterious treasure is located. However, Hilda is not the only one who desires this treasure, and such people as the dangerous “Kai Pirates” and “the MacDougall brothers” are also attempting to acquire it.

Along their way, Gene and Jim meet new people to join the Outlaw Star in its journey to the Galactic Leyline. Such people include Malfina, an attractive young woman who has a mysterious connection to the Galactiv Leyline, the very beautiful but deadly assassin “Twilight” Suzuka and the abrasive Aisha Clanclan of the Ctarl–Ctarl Empire. Together, the team of the Outlaw Star head to the Galactic Leyline, but along their way many obstacles await them...

Outlaw Star is filled with action in both gunfights and stunning space battles, a fantastic tale of love and romance, humour at its best and an excellent soundtrack, all of which make Outlaw Star one of the best animes out there.
