When Gene was at a very young age, he travelled to outer space with his father for the very first time in his life. However, this trip went entirely wrong when their ship was attacked by pirates and Gene’s father killed. This led Gene to have a special amount of hatred towards that of the pirates, and also a fear of outer space itself. Like most people of his age, Gene loves women, but once he has had his “fun” with them, he simply goes on to the next, disregarding their feelings completely. He is confident in his skills, arrogant in his ways and rather talented in several forms of combat, which is what led him to setting up Starwind and Hawking Enterprises along with his best friend, Jim, as it suits his persona perfectly (taking on any job). Although Gene thought this job to be best suited for him, once he takes a seemingly simple job from a certain someone, it leads him to unlock a lot of his mysterious past, makes him confront his fear of outer space and puts him directly in the middle of an epic adventure.

The other half of Stawrind and Hawking Enterprises and the brains behind the business; Jim is truly a boy genius. Jim’s father was known as a famous computer hacker named “Computer Wizard”, but other than that, absolutely nothing is known of Jim’s past or how he came to be such good friends with Gene (although it is hinted on several occasions that his parents had both died). As said previously, Jim truly is a boy genius; he is able to control pretty much any machine, is excellent in space combat and just like his father, is an exceptional computer hacker. Although Gene is the older of the two, Jim is by far the more responsible, constantly warning Gene of the hazards in every situation and taking care of things that Gene shows no interest within. As mentioned before, Jim’s parents have most likely past away, and therefore Jim looks to others as his parental figures. The primary character who fits this is Melfina, whom Jim has claimed to remind him of his mother several times throughout the series and perhaps she is the one who will give him the answers he has been searching for.

“Who am I?” “Why am I here?” “..What am I?” are just a few of the questions Melfina continuously asks of herself. She was found naked in a very well protected case by Gene and Jim during a mission forced upon them and is in fact an android designed to solve one of the biggest mysteries of the Universe, but that is something unknown to Melfina. There is no way one could tell her apart from that of a human due to her having human emotions, feelings and looks, but that doesn’t escape all the questions she has. Although Melfina is an Android, she is more human then most, helping those in need whenever possible and acting as a motherly figure to Jim. At first, Gene acts as if he doesn’t care for Melfina, that she is someone that can help him seek what he desires, but during the course of their journey together, a bond is created between the two, a bond that could not only solve the mysteries of two’s past, but the mysteries of the Universe itself..

Suzuka (Top)

Occupation: Assassin
Suzuka, or “Twilight Suzuka” as her alias goes, is an extremely skilled and universally feared assassin. Although extraordinarily beautiful, Suzuka is perhaps the most deadly of the Outlaw Star crew and has earned the reputation of never once failing to assassinate her target and has come to be known as the “Angel of death”. After failing an assassination due to her being defeated by Gene by the means of him undressing her, she joined the Outlaw Star in order to discover Gene’s motivation for fighting and how she could possibly lose to him. Although seemingly cold, Suzuka is very much a kind hearted woman who was forced into her style of living due to her past. However, that past is very tragic and full of violence, but could her travelling with the Outlaw Star and the people she once tried to destroy unlock the mysteries of her past and give herself a whole different reason to live?

Aisha Clan–Clan (Top)

Occupation: Ambassador of the Ctarl–Ctarl Empire
Aisha Clan–Clan is of the Ctarl–Ctral Empire, and Empire that is feared throughout the Universe due to their immense strength and the ability to transform into beast like creatures by the means of the moon. Aisha was originally an Ambassador of the Ctarl–Ctarl Empire, sent out to seek the Galactic Leyline for the glory of her people, but that soon changed when she met up with Gene Starwind. She was stripped of her high rank and forced to take minor jobs in order to merely live, but she always held a grudge towards the crew of the Outlaw Star, especially to that of Gene. However, after several encounters with the Outlaw Star, Aisha unintentionally joins the crews due to her recklessness, and despite her hot headed, selfish and arrogant attitude, she becomes a great asset to the team and grows to have a close relationship with each, especially with that of Jim, who she regards as her little brother.

Fed Lou (Top)
Age: 20

Occupation: Weapons Dealer
Fred Lou is the only character within Outlaw Star that is openly homosexual. His affection towards that of Gene is how we see this; his being generous to him frequently, the hugs and kisses Gene receives whenever he visits (or, what Fred tries to give), the way he speaks, and the constant pouting that he tends to do. From this, one would naturally believe that Fred is nothing but an annoyance to that of Gene, and to an extent, Jim, but he is essential in their quest. Fred is in fact an extremely successful arms and weapons dealer whom resides on Sentinel III and got the crew of the Outlaw Star a lot further than they would have without him. However, that doesn’t escape the fact that both Gene and Jim are sometimes reluctant to go and visit him due to his antics, and as Jim said, “I never know how to act around him”. Despite this, Gene and Jim both know Fred to have a good heart and to be a good friend, and although they may act as if he is plainly annoying, I personally believe them to not want him being any other way.
