My heart grows heavy as I look at your photograph
And these butterflies eat away at my insides
I can’t even imagine how long this beauty can last
But in my heart an answer resides
But something happens that only I can feel
Please, don’t take it away
And something happens that I want you to feel
Please, don’t take that away

But you don’t listen, you just reach into me
Why couldn’t you heed my pleading warning?
My tears roll down as all the butterflies flee
Your hand and my heart are now joining
And something happens that’s too painful to feel
Oh please, just take this away
And something happens that I was afraid to feel
Please, just take my heart away
